Coastal Pines Technical College Student Athletes for January

Ja’Queze Kirby

The Jeff Davis standout is scoring 19.2 points a game while averaging 11.4 rebounds to go with 4.6 blocks, 4.2 assists and 3 steals a contest.

His consistent play, which has spanned the season, earned Kirby the first Coastal Pines Technical College Boys Student-Athlete of the Month for January.

Zoesha Smith

Going into the postseason, Smith is averaging a double-double with 20.7 points and 12.4 rebounds a game. Her steady play has helped the Glynn girls to a 20-4 overall record which includes a perfect 8-0 mark in region games going into the league tournament which Glynn is hosting on their campus.

UGA Bound!

 Our MVP this month is a whirlwind on the basketball court: scoring and rebounding her way into double figures in both categories nearly every game. During Zoesha Smith’s first three years at Glynn Academy, she has hit an amazing 30-plus double/doubles.

The Machine!

Our Most Improved Athlete is Ja’Queze Kirby of the Jeff Davis County Yellow Jackets. A starter since his freshman year, Ja‘Queze had to adjust to the faster pace of high school basketball, but by the end of his senior season he will hold school records for scoring and rebounding.

He Shoots! He Scores!

The Gator Den has had many big names who went on to play collegiate basketball: the Medlock Brothers, Jemar Lincoln, and Matea Boyd are just a few who have put on spectacular shows for the crowds. Well, let me introduce you to an up and coming star: Ware County Junior, Zak Swinson.
